The District has been working closely with our consulting team and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) for approved waste collection service as we transition the bin (dumpster) sites. For more information on the Bin Site Transition Plan and alternate services planned for communities, please visit our project page.
With ongoing feedback from communities, we're pleased to announce the summer 2023 Lakeside Waste Collection schedule.

What can I bring? |
The weekly limit is two bags of household garbage, securely tied shut and unlimited recycling in clear/transparent bags. Recycling may also be brought in an open top container. |
Can garbage be dropped off outside of event hours? |
No, it can't. We are relying on the cooperation of our dedicated Muskoka community to respect this service and, at the same time, preserve our beautiful Muskoka environment – the reason we all choose to live here. Any abandoned garbage left on the ground before or after the event time is considered illegal dumping. These instances will be investigated and may result in the cancellation of the program. Questions? We're here to help - reach out to our Lakeside Waste Collection team at waste@muskoka.on.ca or 705-645-2100. |
