The Rosewarne Landfill (expansion) opened in 2016 with a 950,000 tonne capacity. Waste from the District's licensed Waste Facilities are delivered to Rosewarne.
The Rosewarne Landfill was designed based on nine (9) Cells with a total capacity of 950,000 tonnes that are constructed as additional capacity is needed, and was extensively engineered to meet rigorous environment standards far beyond any landfill in the region.

The Rosewarne Landfill Public Liaison Committee is an advisory Committee of Council. It was established to serve as a focal point for dissemination, consultation, review and exchange of information regarding the operation of the Rosewarne Landfill Site (Bracebridge), including environmental monitoring, maintenance, complaint resolution and new approvals or amendments to existing approvals related to the operation of the landfill site. Terms of Reference have been approved by the Engineering and Public Works Committee to ensure open communication and assist in maintaining high standards for the operation of the Landfill and the protection of the natural environment.
