As part of the Province of Ontario’s Better Regional Governance Act, 2026, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing has announced an intention to appoint the Muskoka District Chair for the 2026–2030 term of Muskoka District Council. Applications for this position are now open.
This appointment process is separate from voting for local municipal offices.
Applications must be submitted through the Ontario Government’s Public Appointments website.
