A local municipal council may appoint one of its members as an alternate to act in place of a District Council member when that member is unable to attend a District Council meeting. There can only be one alternate member appointed per municipality, and the appointment is for the term of Council.

Meetings
District Council Meetings are held in the Council Chamber of the District Administration Building at 70 Pine Street in Bracebridge on the third Monday of the month commencing at 1:00 p.m. Committee meetings are held during the day in the Council week. Meetings are open to the public.
