The District purchases a variety of goods and services, most of which are purchased through a competitive procurement process. As a municipal government it is our responsibility to ensure that tax dollars are spent in a transparent, responsible, and fair manner while ensuring the maximum benefit for each tax dollar spent.

Contractors and volunteers are subject to all District policies and procedures including those related to COVID-19. The following policies, including appendices, apply to all District employees, contractors, volunteers, students, members of Council and members of Council appointed Committees (all of whom will be referred to as employees). For the purposes of the policies and appendices, a workplace includes any land, premises, location or thing at, upon, in or near which a worker works; indoors or outdoors.

All visitors, including contractors and volunteers, will be required to follow the workplace specific COVID health and safety information when present in any District workplace. Information is available to District construction contractors on Prompt Payment and a sample Proper Invoice. Please note that the prompt payment and adjudication provisions of the Construction Act do not apply to a contract or subcontract entered into on or after October 1, 2019 if a procurement process was commenced before October 1, 2019.
From time-to-time, the District may declare assets surplus and/or obsolete. These assets are disposed according to Muskoka's Disposal of Surplus Assets Policy. We use GovDeals to dispose of surplus assets.
