Muskoka, ON - The District Municipality of Muskoka has received an extraordinary $500,000 donation, one of the largest private gifts ever made to the municipality.The donation is a major boost to Muskoka Paramedic Services just in time for the holiday season.

Muskoka Waste Facilities Make the Clear Commitment Clear Garbage Bags Required Starting January 2026

The Clear Bag Program keeps food waste and hazardous items out of garbage, protecting Muskoka’s environment and extending the life of the Rosewarne Landfill.

MUSKOKA, Ont. (Nov. 12, 2025) – Starting January 2, 2026, residents and businesses across Muskoka will be required to use clear, colourless garbage bags at all District Waste Facilities to be considered as part of the weekly allowance. Materials arriving in black or solid coloured garbage bags will be subject to applicable charges.

Rehabilitation of Silver Bridge in Bracebridge Moves Ahead
