Local non-profit community groups could receive grants of up to $10,000

Muskoka, ON – Applications for the District’s 2026 Muskoka Community Grant Program are now open.The program helps fund local projects led by community members, grassroots groups, non-profit organizations and registered charitieswith the goal of making a difference in Muskoka.

Two grant opportunities are available in 2026:

Silver Bridge remains closed to vehicles and pedestrians during construction

February 4, 2026 (Muskoka, ON)- The District of Muskoka hasinitiated the next phase of work this week to complete repairs of the historic Silver Bridge in the Town of Bracebridge.Clearwater Structures Inc. is on site installing a temporary support structure that will be used during construction.The bridge is scheduled to reopenby the end of 2026.

The District temporarily closed vehicle and pedestrian access to Silver Bridge in January 2025 as a public safety

December 28, 2025 (Muskoka, ON)– The District has declared a Significant Weather Event for all District roads throughout Muskoka, effective immediately. The declaration is due to Freezing Rain and Winter Storm Warnings issued by Environment Canada, forecasting weather conditions that are expected to impact road maintenance operations.
