Waste collection crews are starting a bit earlier!

The District of Muskoka is asking residents to set material at the curb a bit earlier on their scheduled collection day. Starting the first week of June, collection crews will begin curbside collection in our communities at 7:00 am.

We’re working closely with our contractor to find better and more efficient ways of getting your waste collected. We need your help! On your regular collection day, please set materials at the curb for 7:00 a.m.

The District of Muskoka (District) is developing a Regional Broadband Strategy to expand and improve broadband connectivity across Muskoka.  A Request for Proposals (RFP) has been issued to hire a consultant to explore Muskoka’s unique connectivity challenges, confirm the needs and interests of businesses and residents (both year-round and seasonal), and create a plan to meet future connectivity and infrastructure requirements across Muskoka.

The District of Muskoka is launching the summer Lakeside Waste Collection program in the Township of Muskoka Lakes on Sunday, May 23, 2021.  

Every Sunday this summer, Lakeside Waste Collection trucks will be at locations in the Township of Muskoka Lakes during scheduled times, to accept household bagged garbage and recycling. This special collection is intended for residents whose homes are only accessible by boat.

May 4, 2021 – Heart attack patients in Muskoka now have access to the ‘gold standard’ of care thanks to the Simcoe Muskoka Code STEMI Protocol.

Starting today, residents with heart attack symptoms who present to Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) Emergency Departments in either Bracebridge or Huntsville or who call 911 may now be transported by Muskoka Paramedic Services directly to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) in Barrie for their lifesaving treatment....
