District Council passed a resolution at its September 20, 2021 meeting to move forward with the redevelopment of the Fairvern Nursing Home on donated lands on Centre Street in Huntsville.  Redevelopment of Fairvern into an expanded 160-bed long-term care home continues to progress, and work to finalize the agreement to receive the donated property is underway.

Schedule Update: Road Open

ROAD OPEN: Peninsula Road (MR7) – Port Sandfield Swing Bridge

The overnight bridge balancing work was successful and the District has eliminated the need for additional full overnight closures. The Port Sandfield Swing Bridge on Peninsula Road (MR7) is fully open.  

Crews will remain on-site during the day to complete additional work, with no disruption to traffic.
