District of Muskoka Offices Remain Open During Province’s Move to Return to Step Two

January 6, 2022 (Bracebridge, ON) – In accordance with the return to a Modified Step Two of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen,  the District of Muskoka offices remain open at this time to support residents with core in-person services.  These offices include the District’s main administration office and court building in Bracebridge and the District’s Community Services offices in Huntsville and Gravenhurst.

January 4, 2022 (Bracebridge, ON) - On Monday, January 3, the Premier announced that schools would remain closed to in-person learning until January 17.  Students enrolled in publicly-funded schools across Muskoka will now be engaged in virtual learning effective Wednesday, January 5, 2022.

January 3, 2022 (Bracebridge, ON) – Testing has confirmed new positive COVID-19 resident cases and additional staff cases at the Pines Long-Term Care Home (the Pines).   

The Pines remains in outbreak status until further notice.  Thank you to our dedicated staff, Pines residents and families for their support and patience during these challenging times as visiting restrictions continue to keep our residents safe.

Community Update: Steps taken After Staff Test Positive

December 31, 2021 (Bracebridge, ON) -- This week five (5) staff members at The Pines Long Term Care Home (the Pines) tested positive for COVID-19, and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has placed the Home under outbreak status.  All staff who tested positive are symptomatic and are isolating at home.  

The Pines staff is working with Public Health, and following their guidance, 95 residents are being isolated in their rooms as a precaution.

CN Rail - Full Road Closure at Torrance Crossing on Southwood Road (MR13)

December 7, 2021 (Muskoka, ON) - CN Rail has scheduled a full road closure of Muskoka Road 13 (Southwood Road) at the CN Crossing in Torrance for rail repairs on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
