River Street will be fully closed starting Wednesday, March 10 to allow crews to move machinery into the construction zone. March 8, 2021 (Bracebridge – ON) Through funding provided by the Province of Ontario, The District Municipality of Muskoka (the District) has partnered with Hammond Transportation Ltd. to provide eligible residents with accessible transportation to the COVID-19 vaccination clinics located in Bracebridge and Huntsville, starting today.

March 4, 2021 (Bracebridge, ON) – The District of Muskoka’s Child Care Fee Subsidy Program helps make child care more affordable for eligible families by reducing the amount of money that families have to pay licensed child care providers to care for their child(ren) under the age of 13.

Truck Half-Load Restrictions on District Roads in Effect March 15, 2021

March 1, 2021 (Muskoka, ON) - Reduced load restrictions of 5 tonnes per axle will take effect on many District roads beginning March 15, 2021. 

Roads are their most vulnerable in the spring as frost leaves the ground. Load restrictions help extend the lifespan of the road surface by minimizing damage from heavy vehicles. Road conditions will be continually monitored and the restriction will be lifted when road conditions will allow.
