The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program is a collaboration between community organizations and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
Community organizations host free tax clinics where volunteers complete tax preparation services for eligible individuals, families, seniors and persons with disabilities with moderate income. Please fill out the online appointment request form to be added to the waitlist to have your 2021 Income Taxes completed. Appointments will start in March 2022.

Complete the online tax clinic request form at the link below and you will be added to our 2022 appointment list. Please Note: There will be no income tax returns completed between December 1, 2021 to March 1, 2022. We will continue to register names and add them to the waitlist. Individuals will be contacted within two weeks from registering to book an appointment time with a volunteer to complete their tax return. What Is the District’s Role in This Program? | ||||||||||||||||
The District of Muskoka registered with the CRA as a community organization to deliver the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program for eligible residents living in Muskoka. As a registered organization, the District dedicates staff resources to support the delivery of the program. The District also provides resources (such as laptops and printers) and staff to manage volunteers, coordinate training and offer support at tax clinic locations. Community partners including the Salvation Army and local libraries also support the program through coordinating space to host the clinics and to take inquiries and appointments at these locations. Information and Application for Tax Clinic Volunteers | ||||||||||||||||
We are not accepting new volunteer applications for the 2022 season. Please check back on this page in the Fall of 2022. This program would not be made possible without the help of our community volunteers. You don't need to be an accountant to help! A basic understanding of taxes is helpful and volunteers receive training as prepared by the CRA. Information about this volunteer position is provided below.
