The District Municipality of Muskoka is pleased to have resumed the Resort Policy Review project for Muskoka. Lead by Meridian Planning Consultants Ltd., this project continues initial work from 2017 that was undertaken as part of the comprehensive review of the Muskoka Official Plan.
This project aims to update the policy framework to guide resort development and redevelopment across Muskoka in a way that is consistent with good planning principles.

May 4, 2021 – Heart attack patients in Muskoka now have access to the ‘gold standard’ of care thanks to the Simcoe Muskoka Code STEMI Protocol.

Beginning the week of April 26, 2021, work is planned to improve the Bala Creek Bridge on Muskoka Road 169 near River Street (locally known as the Mill Stream Bridge) in the Bala community.

In follow up to the District’s announcement earlier today regarding the District accepting pre-applications for Emergency Child Care (ECC), the Province has now released the worker eligibility list confirming those who are eligible to apply for ECC. All pre-applications received will now be classified as official applications effective immediately.
