May 4, 2021 – Heart attack patients in Muskoka now have access to the ‘gold standard’ of care thanks to the Simcoe Muskoka Code STEMI Protocol.

Starting today, residents with heart attack symptoms who present to Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) Emergency Departments in either Bracebridge or Huntsville or who call 911 may now be transported by Muskoka Paramedic Services directly to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) in Barrie for their lifesaving treatment....

Port Carling Locks Reopening with Restrictions in Place

The Port Carling Large Locks is reopening on Monday, May 3, 2021 with restrictions in place to protect the health and safety of staff and the community.

Visitors can access the large locks beginning Monday, May 3, 2021, during regular weekday operating hours. Lockage fees can be found on our website. Visitors to the Port Carling Locks are reminded that the use of the locks and onsite facilities is at their own risk.

Surveys launched for Bass Lake, Echo Lake, Leonard Lake, Stewart Lake, and Three Mile Lake

Bridge Upgrades in Bala Start Next Week

Beginning the week of April 26, 2021, work is planned to improve the Bala Creek Bridge on Muskoka Road 169 near River Street (locally known as the Mill Stream Bridge) in the Bala community.

Single-lane traffic will be in place until the end of June as we repair the bridge structure, repave the driving surface and widen the sidewalks.
