December 26, 2022 (Muskoka, ON) - The District of Muskoka and partner municipalities are encouraging families to clear 911 signs, so property numbers are visible, and be a “Hydrant Hero” in their neighbourhoods this winter.

As we continue shovel, snowblow and take a few moments to catch our breath – we recognize that this is the most significant snowfall in our memory. District crews are calling this holiday season the “2022 Muskoka SnowGlobe”.

December 23, 2022 (Muskoka, ON) – Significant volumes of snow accumulation and chances of flash freezes and freezing rain have triggered a Significant Weather Event to be issued by the District of Muskoka for all District roads.

The Significant Weather Event was declared this evening, December 23, 2022 for areas throughout Muskoka – officials will advise when the Significant Weather Event has been lifted.

December 19th, 2022 (Bracebridge, ON) – The construction and safety improvements to Santa's Village Road (Muskoka Road 15) in Bracebridge have concluded for the 2022 season.

Construction crews will return in spring, 2023 to complete the ‘finishing touches’ on the road, including final paving, improvements to driveways, landscaping and restoration.

We’re almost done – we need to push some items to 2023 when the snow is gone, so we can finish landscaping and ensure property owners are satisfied.

Monday, December 5, 2022 (Muskoka, ON) - District Council has adjourned its first inaugural meeting of the 2022-2026 term and officially appointed the next District Chair.

The first order of business was swearing in the twenty-two elected District Councilors, who will now represent the voices of each partner municipality in Muskoka. Amy Back, District Clerk, administered their Oaths of Office to officially commence their term.
