Put waste in its place this season

Did you know 545,000 tonnes of wrapping paper and gift bags are thrown out in Canada each year? That is the weight of 1.1 million polar bears. Together we can bring positive change to Muskoka's environment by managing our waste better.

Wrapping Paper

Not all wrapping paper is recyclable. Foil and metallic types belong in the garbage. Consider saving and re-using gift bags, ribbons, bows and other decorations next year.

Trees

Real Christmas trees can be delivered to any transfer station free of charge in January and February. Please remember to remove all decorations, tinsel and lights prior to disposal.
