November 8, 2021 (Bracebridge, ON) – We are excited to announce the YWCA Women in Business program has partnered with the District of Muskoka to offer a FREE 8-week program geared towards women who would like to start a home child care business, or for those who currently offer childcare but want to become an approved home child care provider with Muskoka Home Child Care Agency (MHCCA).
This program will take participants through the visioning, planning, and steps needed to start up and run an approved home child care business, and work through the approval process with the MHCCA. By the completion of this program, participants will be ready to open their doors.
This program is scheduled to start on November 22 and will run for eight (8) weeks. Sessions will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. over Zoom.
Muskoka is in high demand for quality child care. By being a MHCCA provider, you will help our community meet the need for quality care for children from birth to 12 years old. Providers are part of a fun, caring, and supportive network and can access our online Provider Engagement Portal to share resources, expert advice, ideas, and more!
Why Should You Consider Becoming an Approved Home Child Care Provider?
Registration to become a MHCCA provider is free. Our experienced team will offer support and guide you through the approval process of meeting all requirements regarding your home environment (inside and out).
Start-up costs for items such as First Aid and CPR Training, Criminal Reference Check, and Home Fire Inspection are reimbursed. MHCCA can also provide equipment such as high chairs, cots, playpens, shelving, and so much more to help you open your own home child care.
We connect you with a community of like-minded individuals committed to quality child care in Muskoka. We are always here to offer support, professional development, and home visits once you become an approved provider.
Incentive!
By successfully completing the 8-week program and opening an approved MHCCA home child care, you are eligible for a $3,000 start-up grant.
