Significant Weather Event remains in effect for the District of Muskoka
December 25, 2022 (Muskoka, ON) - Snow removal efforts have continued throughout Muskoka since declaring a Significant Weather Event on December 23, 2022. Our partner municipalities received a significant amount of snowfall over the last two days - we continue to work together to ensure the plows can operate safely, given the conditions and challenges.
We’re out there – please be patient.
Plowing and snow removal activities continue by District, partner municipalities and contracted crews, clearing arterial and highly travelled roads in our communities. Plows are moving their way to lower volume areas as plows clear their routes - please be patient and ensure your vehicles are not blocking the roadway.
We are actively monitoring the forecast and continue to plan in advance this holiday season. Crews are on the roads – we sincerely thank them for their commitment to getting our community members where they need to go, and working to make it safe to travel.
Clearing this large volume of snow will take time – and we ask our community to exercise extreme caution. Please only travel if absolutely necessary and give snow removal crews time and space.
