October 25, 2024 (Muskoka, ON) - The District of Muskoka is launching a public consultation to gather feedback as we explore the creation of a Municipal Services Corporation (MSC) for Muskoka Airport.
An MSC is a governance model that allows publicly owned entities like Muskoka Airport, to operate with more business-like flexibility. By transitioning to an MSC, the Airport could benefit from faster decision-making, increased capacity to attract private-sector investment, and the ability to adapt quickly to new opportunities.
This structure allows for greater efficiency and responsiveness, all while ensuring that ownership of the airport lands remains with the District.
Flight Plan Survey – The Future of Muskoka Airport
Consulting with our community is an essential part of this process as we evaluate and explore the potential of this new governance model. What we hear from our community and partners is critical to ensuring the proposed MSC reflects the needs and priorities of those it serves.
We encourage community participation through a short survey, open until November 29, 2024. The insights gathered will inform the final recommendation, which is expected to be presented to Muskoka District Council in early 2025.
