Recognizing the achievements of staff across public works
The District of Muskoka is proud to recognize several staff members who have recently achieved significant professional certifications and designations, demonstrating their commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and delivering high-quality services to our communities.
Water and Wastewater
- Isabella Barletta – Wastewater Treatment Class 1 (WWT1)
- Dave Lettress – Wastewater Collection Class 1 (WWC1) and Wastewater Treatment Class 1 (WWT1)
- Derek Dix – Water Treatment Class 3 (WT3)
- Kevin Crowder – Water Treatment Class 2 (WT2)
Solid Waste
- Renee Recoskie earned the Certified Municipal Officer (CMO) designation through the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks, and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO).
- Elizabeth Litchfield achieved the Manager of Landfill Operations Certification through the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA).
Capital Projects and Development Services
- Justin Baardolf earned the Road Construction Senior Inspector (RCSI) designation.
- Mark Misko achieved the Drainage Superintendent Certification through the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA).
- Ryan Elbe achieved the Drainage Superintendent Certification through OMAFA.
- Ramesh Khanal earned the designation of Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
Industry Leadership and Knowledge Sharing
James Steele, Commissioner of Engineering and Public Works, was recently appointed as the 2nd Vice President of the Ontario Municipal Water Association (OMWA). In this role, he will help advance municipal water and wastewater services across Ontario while supporting collaboration and professional development throughout the sector.
