About our Employer Survey

The District of Muskoka is considering forming a Local Immigration Partnership or LIP to support the community in becoming a welcoming place for newcomers to Canada.  LIP's are one way that organizations in the community can identify where they can do a better job working together to help newcomers find employment and housing, get access to health care and language skills and feel like they belong to the community.

We need your help to understand what it is like to be an employer of newcomers to Canada to Muskoka so that we can better plan and deliver the support you or your employees need.  We are also interested in gauging your interest in becoming a member of the Local Immigration Partnership.

When we talk about newcomers to Canada we are referring to people who were born outside of Canada and who immigrated here during their lifetime.

What is the purpose of this survey?
The purpose of this survey is to understand the experience of employers of newcomers in Muskoka.

How will this information be used?
The information in this survey will be used and disclosed by the District of Muskoka for the purposes of writing a feasibility report for the Government of Canada to decide if Muskoka should have a Local Immigration Partnership.

Do I have to complete this survey?
No. You do not have to complete this survey. It is entirely voluntary. However, if you do choose to complete this survey, you will be helping to make Muskoka a better place for newcomers. Should you choose to complete the survey, it will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete.

How is my information protected?

The personal information in this survey is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, c. 25. The information will be used for the purposes of developing the District of Muskoka feasibility study for a Local Immigration Partnership. Questions about this collection can be directed to Tina Kilbourne at tina.kilbourne@muskoka.on.ca.

All survey data will be stored securely online. The information you provide is anonymous which means your identity is not known and can’t be connected to your survey responses.

Only general trends from the survey will be reported and any information that could potentially identify an individual will not be made public. In some cases, informative quotes may be used in reporting, but no identifying information will be made public.
