Employment Services
Vision
Through compassion and effective delivery of community services, Muskoka Community Services aims to reduce poverty and support the development of healthy communities and self-sufficient community members.
Employment Services
Muskoka Community Services Ontario Works provides participants with Employment Services to reconnect them to the workforce, increase self-sufficiency, promote inclusion and support engagement within the community by providing hope and opportunity.
Part 2 of the Ontario Works application (the Participation Agreement and Employment Plan) is a scheduled appointment with an Employment Case Manager.
The Employment Case Manager assists and guides participants to develop a detailed, action-oriented employment plan, identifying obstacles and enhancing employability and related life skills.
Job Development Programs will provide employment coaching, job retention supports and provide direct links to employers who are hiring.
Training and Development programs provide workshops on resume development, certificate courses, life skills, personal growth and development, as well as connections to literacy, training and educational programs in the community.
Community Engagement provides the dual benefits of Hope and Opportunity for individuals and families living in poverty as well as building collaborative relationships between internal programs and / or departments, community partners and other like-minded citizens. It is a process rather than a program with a goal of building communities that are inclusive, resilient and prosperous.
Living in Balance Programs and the Enhanced Supports Program provide intensive supports to address other barrieres such as addictions and mental health issues, and assists participants in achieving their goals and move to a 'Life of Recovery'.
