Administration Department

The Administration Department provides a link between other departments in the District and District Council to provide support and facilitate the carrying out of Council decisions.

Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
As the senior staff person, the CAO is responsible for providing advice to District Council and leadership to senior staff.  The CAO is responsible for ensuring that the policies and direction of Council are implemented with efficiency and effectiveness.

As well as working with department Commissioners one on one, or in small groups, the CAO chairs the Senior Management Team. All department Commissioners attend those meetings and participate in planning and implementation discussions.

District Clerk
The District Clerk is the custodian of all corporate records including minutes, by-laws, reports and agreements. The Clerk's Department provides administrative, procedural and clerical support to District Council, its Standing Committees and various other Ad Hoc Committees.  Responsibilities include preparing the Council agenda and the minutes of Council and Committee meetings. The District Clerk is also responsible for Freedom of Information requests in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990. The Act gives you the right to request access to government-held information, including information about you.
