Forest Health Forests provide benefits to everyone. Besides contributing to the economy through forest products such as lumber, fuel, wood and maple syrup, forests provide various air and water benefits, habitat for a wide range of wildlife and plant species, weather moderation, soil retention and a backdrop for many recreational and tourism activities. They also create attractive communities and contribute to various human health benefits and quality of life. Forest Health Education For information on conducting forestry operations on your property, please click on the following links: A Landowner’s Guide to Selling Standing Timber and A Landowners’ Guide to Careful Logging. The booklets associated with these brochures are also available free of charge at the District of Muskoka offices. Should you wish to obtain more information about Muskoka’s Forest Health Program, receive copies of the booklets, or if you would like to set up a meeting with the Forest Health Technician, please call Melissa Halford (705) 645-2100 ext. 288.
