Electronic Diversion Program (E-Waste) 2013/2014
Muskoka's Household Hazardous Waste Program now operates year round. These depots accept household hazardous waste such as batteries, liquid paint, oil, gasoline, pesticides, chemicals and much more all free of charge.
The District Municipality of Muskoka is pleased to announce that consumer based electronic equipment will now be accepted at selected waste depots. Equipment such as obsolete computers, printers, scanners, monitors, home electronics including stereos, VCRs, televisions and telephones will be accepted free of charge from Muskoka residents.
New: Beginning June 9, 2012, there will be electronic collection bins permanently available at four locations, the Baxter Transfer Station, Franklin Transfer Station, Eveleigh Road Transfer Station and the Beiers Road Landfill. When these facilities are open, residential electronics can be dropped off at no charge. Commercial electronics can also be dropped off, up to 50 items per trip/day at no charge.
