Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is found in every home and includes batteries, cleaners, paints, motor oil, chemicals, grease, CFLs, and fluorescent tubes.
If not disposed of safely and properly, HHW can be harmful to people, animals and our local Muskoka environment.
HHW must not be included in your curbside garbage, recycling bin, green bin or down the drain.
Knowing which products are hazardous can help you protect yourself and others.
Look for these symbols to identify hazardous products.
To determine acceptable and unacceptable hazardous materials, please check our Waste Wizard Tool.
